1. Who we are
Parity Investments (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”) trades as Parity Investments and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MMAPP (Pty) Ltd. Our registered office is in Pretoria, South Africa. 2. Information we collect
We collect (a) contact details provided when you enquire about our services; (b) the additional client due-diligence and anti-money-laundering information required to onboard and administer a mandate; (c) correspondence history and portal access logs; and (d) limited technical information (IP address, user agent, pages viewed) from the site. We do not run advertising cookies.
3. How we use it
We process personal information to respond to enquiries, to administer client mandates and their reporting, to meet regulatory, tax, and anti-money-laundering obligations, and to operate and secure this site and the client portal. Our lawful bases are contractual necessity, legitimate interests, and legal obligation. We do not use personal information for automated decision-making.
4. Sharing
We share personal information only with (a) our custodian and banking counterparties where instructions require it; (b) our auditors, tax advisers, and legal counsel under professional duties of confidentiality; (c) regulators and tax authorities where required by law; and (d) cloud-infrastructure suppliers that host this site. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for marketing purposes.
5. International transfers
Where personal information is transferred across borders, we rely on adequacy or recognition determinations, or on standard contractual clauses with a documented transfer risk assessment on file.
6. Retention
We retain client records for the minimum periods required by applicable regulation and tax law (typically five to seven years from the end of the client relationship). Enquiry correspondence that does not lead to onboarding is deleted within twenty-four months.
7. Your rights
You have rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection in respect of your personal information, subject to legal and regulatory retention requirements. To exercise them, contact dpo@parity-investments.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law (no later than thirty days).
8. Complaints
Complaints about how we handle personal information may be raised with the Information Regulator of South Africa, under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
9. Changes to this policy
We will post material changes here and, where appropriate, notify existing clients. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the current version.
